Wondering how you’ll make friends?

Grow your personal interests by joining a club, Greek life, an intramural sport, music, theatre and dance – anything. With 70+ student-run organizations, 18 varsity athletic teams, intramural and club sports, student publications and performances, community service, and honor societies, there’s something for you.

Or are you curious about what there is to do on the weekends? Keene State students know how to have fun. Watch our theatre, dance, and music students perform at the Redfern Arts Center. Go with a friend to the Night Owl Café for bingo night. Stop by Winter Celebration or Spring Carnival for games and treats. There are dozens of ways to kick back and have a good time, and everywhere you turn, you’ll meet new people and start to build lifelong friendships.

Spring Carnival

Spring Carnival is one of the most popular traditions at Keene State! Held annually in late April, it’s a great way for students to kick back and relax before the semester ends and finals week begins. At Carnival, you'll find amusement rides, food, games, live music, and more. It’s just one of the many ways we come together as a community to celebrate and have fun!

Student Involvement

At the start of the fall semester, all of Keene State’s student organizations and clubs table along Appian Way (the main walkway on campus). It’s an event for both new and returning students, and is a great place for you to find students who have the same interests as you. Whether you’re into dancing, writing, adventuring, community service, music, or film, with 70+ organizations, there’s something for everyone. The biggest piece of advice our students have for their classmates is "Get Involved!" What will YOU choose?

Meet Matt Holderman ’21

What's it really like to be a Keene State Owl? What does day-to-day life as a college student look like? Meet Matt Holderman, a junior majoring in multimedia journalism and minoring in economics. He's also the host of Keene State's weekly athletics show Inside Owl Athletics. Take a look to see what a typical day is like for Matt!

Keene State College Dance Team

Keene State has a nationally ranked dance team – our dancers came in 10th place at Universal Dance Association College Dance Team National Championship in the open hip hop category! This group of talented dancers is student-led, which means Team Captain Ariel Luria often doubles as a dance coach. "We are listed as a club sport, but we work just as hard as any athletic team," says Ariel. You can often catch the dance team performing halftime shows for our athletic teams.
