Explore First-Year Residence Halls
Most Keene State students live on campus – and that’s by design. The shared experience of living together creates strong and close friendships. To best support you as you transition to college, we require first- and second-year students to live on campus. First-year students can choose between four different housing options, each with its own unique features and amenities. All residence halls at Keene State are co-ed and offer free laundry facilities and common spaces for study and entertainment.

The Commons
The Commons is Keene State’s largest first-year residence hall and home to our first-year Living and Learning Communities. Each room in The Commons offers moveable furniture, self-controlled air conditioning and heat, and plenty of outlets for you and your roommate. Students have access to a full kitchen and dining area, lounge, kitchenettes, ping pong, pool table, and cable TV in the common areas.

The Living and Learning Communities (or LLCs as we call them) are offered to students interested in specific areas of study – it doesn’t need to be in your major. You’ll live next door to and take classes with the same students so you’ll have even more in common. It’s one of many ways to find your way at Keene State. Joining an LLC is not a requirement to live in The Commons.
Carle Hall
Carle Hall is Keene State’s largest traditional residence hall. Located on the west side of campus near the Zorn Dining Commons, Carle Hall offers students a recreation room with two pool tables, ping pong, and a lounge with cable TV to hang out with friends and watch TV or play games. A full common area kitchen is also available. Each room has twin beds and other furnishings, phone and cable hookups, and network access.
Fiske Hall
Fiske Hall, located on the north side of Fiske Quad, houses 87 co-ed residents. Each room offers moveable furniture (twin beds, desks, and wardrobes), multiple outlets, and overhead lights. In the common areas, students have access to two fireplaces in the quiet study area, a kitchen, cable TV, and a game area with ping pong and a pool table.
Huntress Hall
Huntress Hall, located on the west side of Fiske Quad, houses 154 co-ed residents. Each room offers overhead lights, plenty of outlets, twin beds, wardrobes, and moveable furniture. In the common areas, students in Huntress also have access to a full kitchen, cable television, and a comfortable lounge.
