Field Experience and Clinical Practice
Keene State College educator preparation programs require students to complete thoughtfully designed and incrementally challenging experiences. Fieldwork begins with observation and analysis in early field experiences and moves to complete responsibility for the professional role in clinical practice. KSC faculty and cooperating professionals from the field collaborate to ensure that our pre-service teachers develop the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to help all their future students to learn.
Students are placed in 3-4 clinical field experience environments depending upon their educator preparation program. Fieldwork ranges from observation and analysis in early field experiences to complete responsibility for the professional role in student teaching in the culminating field experience.
Each unique school-college collaboration we build honors a diversity of school experiences, an essential component in the development of future educators. We value the P-12 relationships established within the region, as Keene State College alumni often become mentors to our current educator preparation students.
