Keene State College is making college even more accessible for eligible students through Direct Admission.

Students who are the first in their family to earn a four-year degree or are within a low-income bracket and meet the GPA eligibility requirements will be automatically admitted to Keene State.

Students who qualify and apply to Keene State through the standard Common Application are automatically admitted. The Common Application is free and available to everyone. The 2024-2025 application process opens on August 1.

Completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is still required to access financial aid opportunities.

“This is exciting for Keene State and more exciting for those who may have faced barriers to higher education,” said Peg Richmond, director of admissions. “In one step, students can learn instantly if they are a good candidate for admission.”

Direct Admission still requires students to complete the Common App and submit it for official notification, Richmond said, adding that Keene State will share specific information with eligible students once they are identified to encourage them to complete their submission.

“We want to build an uncomplicated bridge.”
