Center for Creative Inquiry and the Morris-August Honors Program Partnership Grants

This year the Center for Creative Inquiry (CCI) and the Morris-August Honors Program are pleased to offer two funding opportunities for Honors students.

  • Summer Undergraduate Fellowship (SURF). One SURF fellowship has been earmarked specifically for Honors students. SURF provides an awardee with a $4000 stipend (taxable income) to allow her/him to concentrate on research or a creative endeavor without having to hold a job at the same time. In addition, the student’s faculty advisor will receive a $750 stipend for her/his work with the student during the period of the award.

  • CCI grants. 2000$ has been earmarked for Honors students to support a wide range of undergraduate research and creative endeavors, from field experiences and student conference attendance to the purchase of equipment and supplies.
    Application deadlines: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this support is not available in 2021.

The Morris-August Honors Program at the Washington Center

  • This year, the Morris-August Honors program funded students attending “Inauguration 2021 Academic Seminar,” January 11-15, 2021. For more information about the Washington Center and the seminar, please go here .

The Morris-August Honors Alternative Break Program

Eligibility: Sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are members of the Honors Program and are in good academic and disciplinary standing are eligible to apply. Priority will be given to first time-applicants who are juniors and seniors.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this support is not available in 2020-2021.

The Morris-August Honors Program and Partners in the Parks

This year, the Morris-August Honors program will send several students to participate in “Partners in the Parks” program under the auspices of the National Collegiate Honors Council. For more information about “Partners in the Parks,” please go here
