The Cohen Center recognizes contributions to its mission through the following awards.
Charles Hildebrandt Holocaust and Genocide Studies Award
This award honors Charles Hildebrandt, Keene State College’s professor emeritus in Sociology and founder of the Holocaust Resource Center at Keene State in 1983. It is given in recognition of excellence in Holocaust or Genocide Studies.
Susan J. Herman Award for Leadership in Holocaust and Genocide Awareness
This award honors the work and inspiration of Dr. Susan J. Herman, Professor of Management at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, and Professor Emerita of Management at Keene State College. Dr. Herman served the College, the Cohen Center and New Hampshire through a lifetime of advocacy, education, curriculum development and leadership training.
Elie Wiesel Prize in Ethics
The Elie Weisel Prize in Ethics Essay Contest was established in 1989. Thousands of students from hundreds of colleges and universities across the nation have participated. Through their writing, they explored their concerns and beliefs, their fears and their hopes.
