Student Employees

Working at the CDC

Many KSC students choose to work at the CDC for their work/study job, which is part of their financial aid package. These students are hired to assist throughout the day. We strive for consistency for children as we schedule work/study students, who are trained and supervised by CDC staff. Each student is expected to maintain a professional attitude throughout the duration of their scheduled participation.

Students interested in applying to the CDC should send the following information to the Director or Office Manager:

  • Work Study award
  • Course schedule
  • Experience working with young children
  • Major
  • Preference: Infant Room, Toddler Room, Preschool Classrooms, Kitchen/Office

Jobs are typically posted on MyKSC over the summer, but we are happy to receive applications throughout the year. Hiring decisions are made at the end of the summer, and students learn of their status during the last two weeks of the summer and the first week of the academic year.

If a student does not have a work-study award, it is possible to become a substitute teacher. Interested students need to meet New Hampshire Licensing Rules for an Associate Teacher in order to be a substitute a the CDC.
