We take our community seriously.
We take our community seriously.

Every college has a motto, and some of them sincerely speak to the institution’s character. Certainly, that’s true of Keene State’s “Enter to learn, go forth to serve.” KSC recently submitted its application for the national President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, which recognizes institutions of higher education that support exemplary community service programs and raise the visibility of effective practices in campus community partnerships.

We found that our students performed 104,124 hours of service in 2013–14. This includes student community service work, service-based trips, service-learning courses, and some internships that meet the criteria for community service. We were particularly proud of the partnership between Environmental Studies and the Harris Center, the KSC Adopt-a-Street project, and the Common Ground Multicultural Club’s service trip to New Orleans. In past years, KSC has received Honor Roll status for its community service. Now, that’s wisdom that makes a difference!
