Student Employment

The Campus Recreation & Fitness department is now accepting applications for our student employment positions for Summer 2025 as well as for the 2025-26 academic year (indicate on the application the work period you are interested in, academic year or summer). Individuals will be contacted by the appropriate supervisor to discuss the interview and hiring process. Summer 2025 positions: pay rate for summer positions is $10.00/hour

  • Facility Supervisor - Students interested in this position must have current first aid and CPR/AED certification to cover the Recreation Center. Students work at the front desk to check IDs, process memberships, supervise the facility and check out equipment.

  • Lifeguard - Students interested in this position must have current certification in lifeguard training, first aid and CPR/AED and have prior experience lifeguarding. Students will also work at the front desk for more hours.

  • BodyWorks Fitness Monitor - Students who are enrolled in the HPMS exercise science major can apply for this position. Students will perform desk duties such as answering phone, scheduling appointments; supervise the facility and enforce policies; provide daily facility and equipment upkeep/cleaning.

Additional positions being hired for the academic year:

  • Group Fitness Instructor - Students who are certified may be hired to teach cycling, pilates, yoga, strength training or Zumba classes.

  • Intramural Official - Students who have experience in sports will be trained to referee intramural games. Prior playing and/or officiating experience is helpful. Need officials for flag football, soccer, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey, wiffleball and other sports.

Students who are HPMS exercise science majors and are interested in the BodyWorks fitness monitor position, can contact Charity Sweeney, the BodyWorks Manager, at charity.sweeney@keene.edu, for more information about this position.

During the academic year, students with work-study and the appropriate interest and experience for a specific position are hired first. Those with student hourly and hourly authorizations are also eligible to be hired in Campus Recreation. Student employees receive training and supervision for all positions.
