Orientation Coordinators

Nate Flyzik

Nate Flyzik

Hi everyone! My name is Nate and I will be a Junior here at Keene State College. Teaching has always been a personal dream job of mine, so I am majoring in Secondary Education with a specialization in United States History. As an Orientation Coordinator this year, the staff and myself are beyond excited to have you all here at Keene State!

One interesting fact about me is that I am a twin! Technically he is one minute older than I am, but it doesn’t matter because I obviously got the looks of the family. When I’m not hiking, I’m usually hanging out with friends and playing basketball. On campus I work in the library and I am also involved with the Ultimate Frisbee team. There are many opportunities to get involved on campus, I am excited for you all to get involved with what you love!

Keene State is a close-knit community with people who amaze and inspire. One of the main reasons I chose Keene State was because of the people. Staff, faculty, and students all want to see you succeed from the moment you enter campus, to the moment when you leave. When I came to Keene I found a home and friends that I will certainly have for a lifetime, I hope you all find that too. Congratulations on choosing Keene as your next step in life, I can’t wait to see you all on campus for Owl Orientation!!

Ashley Hoffer

Ashley Hoffer

My name is Ashley and I will be a senior here at Keene State! I am all the way from Cranford, NJ and although I’ll always be a Jersey girl, New Hampshire has definitely captured my heart! I am double majoring in Early Childhood Education and Dance, with a focus in Dance Education. I also am a member of Keene State’s Honors Program and serve as a mentor for incoming honors students. Aside from staying busy with my school work, I have also strived to take in all that Keene State provides! There are so many different opportunities here and I hope that you all find something that you are passionate about during your time spent at KSC. I am one of the two Orientation Coordinators this year, and I am excited to work with this amazing staff and welcome everyone to our campus!

On campus, I am busily involved in Keene’s Education Honors Society and I am the Hospitality Coordinator for the Social Activities Council! You can also catch me dancing around campus in our school’s dance showcases and the Dance department’s performance Evening of Dance. I love to stay busy and be an active presence on campus!

This is my third year being involved with Orientation and I cannot wait for this upcoming year! I have had so many amazing opportunities here at Keene State and I am excited that you will get to experience all that Keene has to offer as well!

Orientation Cluster Leaders

Maria Aiello

Maria Aiello

Hi everyone! My name is Maria Aiello and I will be a senior (say what?!) this coming fall. This is my second year as an Orientation Leader and I’m lucky enough to be a Cluster Leader this year as well. Here at KSC, I’m a double major in Mathematics Education and Elementary Education, with a minor in Psychology. I love to be busy - I’m involved all around campus! I am currently the President of Owl Nation, a member of the mathematics honor society, and a coordinator of KSC Beautiful Lengths, a hair donation event. Besides being an Orientation Leader, I hold quite a few jobs throughout the year and they all rock! I’m a Professor’s Assistant and a Peer Course Assistant (PCA) for the Math Center, a Notetaker for the Office of Disability Services, an ASPIRE tutor, and have been fortunate enough to work on a couple of undergraduate research grants!

When I’m not working, studying, or at a club meeting, you can find me playing just about every intramural sport I can convince my friends to play with me, or at events around campus like bingo, fairs, concerts, or comedians! Some fun facts about me: my favorite season is fall, I love being outside swimming or fishing, lime green is my favorite color, I love playing sports (playing and watching), I’m obsessed with dogs, and I absolutely love doing people’s hair!

And…I love Keene!! This place has so many amazing opportunities to offer, and I have a blast helping new students find what they love here too! The sense of belonging you get at KSC is absolutely incredible. I can’t wait to meet you all and be that friendly face that helps welcome you to campus!

Matt Ashley

Matt Ashley

Hey everyone! My name is Matt Ashley and I’m from West Hartford, Connecticut. In the fall I’ll be entering my senior year as a nursing major. Here at Keene State there is much to be offered and getting involved early on is key.

Going off that, I have been a member of a few clubs and organizations on campus such as the Social Activities Council, Owl Nation, and the Athena Nursing Club. I also used to work in town at one of the best Mexican restaurants and currently work at Cheshire Medical Center as a licensed nursing assistant. I also work in the L.P. Young Student Center at the info desk, so you can say I like to keep busy. This will be my second year on O-staff and I can’t wait to help make your transitions to KSC a great one.

Keene State College can be thought of as a home away from home and I want you all to have the same experience as I had my first year. I can’t wait to meet you all!

Randi Elie

Randii Elie

Hey! I’m Randii, I’m an incoming senior this year at Keene State College and this is my third year getting to be an Orientation Leader. I’m working towards two degrees, one in Holocaust and Genocide Studies and the other in History. I’m also working on two minors in Art History and Medieval and Early Modern Studies. I’m a first generation student and getting to come to Keene to continue my education and explore all my different interests has been a dream come true.

For part time work on campus I work for both the Redfern Arts Center as an Usher and with Aspire tutoring for introduction to art history. Choosing Keene State College has been the best chose I’ve made, I’ve met amazing people, I love what I do for on campus employment, and in three short years Keene has become a home away from home.

I’m so excited to get to meet everyone in June and show you exactly why Keene State College is the real MVP. See you then!

Kayla Koster

Kayla Koster

Hi everyone! My name is Kayla Koster. I am a junior here at Keene State. I am from Londonderry, New Hampshire. I am studying Elementary Education and Psychology. I am the Vice President of the Big Brothers Big Sisters club here on campus. I am also involved with the Education Honors Society, Alternative Break Program, KSC Reads tutoring program, Circle K, peer tutoring and peer advising. My favorite part about Keene State is it’s sense of community. In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends, taking walks downtown, hiking Mt. Monadnock and going shopping. Keene has opened many opportunities for me with so many great experiences along the way. It is an incredible school with so much to offer and I look forward to meeting all of you!

Peter Powers

Peter Powers

Hello, I am Peter Powers. I’m from Keene, NH, so I know all the good local places to eat in town. I’m going into my senior year. My major is secondary education and history. I enjoy all American history as well as 20th century world history.

My favorite sports teams are Red Sox, Patriots, and the Bruins. I enjoy long walks in the woods. My hobbies include hiking, camping, geocaching, watching movies, and making obscured movie references. I commute from my house to the college, which is about a 15-minute drive. I live in west Keene, a side of Keene many KSC students never see. I have one dog Hunter and he likes to eat snacks and take long naps. I went to Keene State because I love Keene so much that I didn’t want to leave this wonderful community.

With that I’ll leave you with a quote “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.”-Dr. Seuss.

Welcome to Keene!

Faith Pudlo

Faith Pudlo

Hi, my name is Faith and I am a senior here at Keene State College. It’s crazy to believe that my time as an Owl is almost up and I couldn’t be more excited to be a part of the 2018 Orientation staff as an assistant! I am from Berkshire County in Western Massachusetts and am studying Middle School Secondary Education and Mathematics with a minor in Dance. As you can imagine I am kept very busy but I thrive on all that Keene has offered to me and the many opportunities I have been given. I have been lucky enough to be a part of numerous dance performances here at Keene State and I have met so many wonderful people. I have also had many jobs on campus such as being a peer course assistant and working as a facility supervisor at the Rec Center which has allowed me to build even more meaningful connections.

My transition to Keene State would have been much more difficult if it had not been for my amazing O-leader and the life-long friends that I met in my first few weeks. Deciding to further my education at Keene State was one of the best decisions that I ever made and I am thankful for every experience that I have had so far and I am excited for all that is to come in the future. I can’t wait for all of you to come to this fantastic home away from home. Welcome to the family!

Nikki Root

Nikki Root

You can call me Nikki Root! I once breathed the same air as Kevin Bacon on a Film set so I’m pretty much a celebrity now. I guess that brings me to my major, Film Production! My favorite series is the Jurassic Park movies. I also have a gnarly minor in Dance! I’m going to be a senior this upcoming academic year (yikes). Even with my time almost coming to end here at my favorite place in NH, I am so excited to take advantage of all opportunities that come my way. Your journey is JUST beginning and I’m so thrilled to be the person to show you all the beauty that Keene State emits.

I can’t lie, I have the most amazing jobs on campus. This is my second year on the Orientation Team and I have the opportunity to hold the position of Cluster Leader! I am the Team Leader of the place that serves Sizzlers, the Night Owl Café and Game Room. What are sizzlers, you ask? You have much to learn young grasshopper. I’m also a fill-in Building Manager for the Student Center. The way I got connected to campus and how my love for Keene grew was when I decided that I was going to get super involved.

I hold the Publicity Chair position for Circle K, a hearing board member for Conduct Hearings, participate in many intramural sports such as Soccer, Basketball, Bowling, Volleyball and Dodge ball, and lastly I perform in the dance shows every semester, Choreography Showcase and An Evening of Dance. This year, I had the opportunity to make a film that opened up the show!

Keene State offers so much and I’m sure that you’ll find your niche. I can’t wait to hear all about you and guide you into the one of the best opportunities you’ll ever have.

Casey Lynn Sowle

I am so excited for this new opportunity!

I am double majoring in Elementary Education and Psychology. I am from Tolland, Connecticut, which is a small town in the northern part of the state. I have made the Dean’s List since I became a student at Keene. I am heavily involved on our campus through several organizations and opportunities. I am a member of Fraternity and Sorority life, a member of the Panhellenic Council E-Board; I am also a member of Kappa Delta Pi, the Educational Honor Society and Order of Omega, the Greek Honor Society.

When my time at KSC is over, I will become a second-grade teacher! Until then, I am looking forward to showing you all the great things Keene State has to offer. See you soon!

Hi my name is JT and I will be a sophomore in the fall of 2018. I am from Torrington CT, and I chose to come to Keene State because of the great family atmosphere. The minute I stepped on campus for the first time I knew that I was meant to come to this amazing place. I am a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology. I am also thinking about minoring in business management.

I am a member of the Keene State College Swim and Dive team. I have been competitively swimming for eleven years and I knew Keene was the place to continue my swimming career. I mainly swim the Breaststroke events but sometimes I will swim a 200 or 400 IM. I highly encourage joining, feel free to ask me any questions. I also look forward to meeting all the new and incoming students as they find a home at Keene State.

Colin Bent

Colin Bent

Hey everyone! My name is Colin and I am a sophomore here at Keene State! I am from Oxford, Massachusetts and my major is Film Production with a minor in Computer Science.

Here at Keene State I’m a part of the Ultimate Frisbee Club, as well as the Improv Club. I’ve also been known to play a bit of volleyball in my free time as well so if you ever need someone for frisbee or volleyball, I’m your guy! Keene has plenty of activities here on campus so you’ll always find your place doing something you love.

With that, I am very excited to meet you all! I can’t wait to begin a new and exciting year, and feel free to say hi! See you guys soon!

John Budenas

John Budenas

I love to spend my time discovering new music, going to concerts, and finding new coffee shops! I am currently involved in Greek Life, which has helped make my college experience so great and rewarding. On campus I am a tour guide for Admissions and I love being able to show incoming students the KSC campus. Keene has become a second home to me and is a place where I’ve made lifelong friends. The community here at KSC is always so welcoming and I couldn’t image being anywhere else.

I hope you all can find special reasons why you love Keene as much as I do, and I am super exited to be able to help you transition into college.

I am looking forward to meeting all of you!

Morgan Chantler

Morgan Chantler

Hi, my name is Morgan and I am sophomore here at Keene. I am double majoring in Earth Space Sciences and Secondary Education with a minor in Environmental studies. I am from Merrimack, NH but was born in Florida.

I did not want to go to Keene originally because it is only about an hour from my house but I am glad I did. Keene State College is small enough that I always know someone wherever I go but big enough that everyday I am meeting someone new. There is lots to get involved in here, I am on the Ultimate Frisbee Team, in Fair Trade club, participate in improv, and actively utilize the free swim hours.

I highly recommend intramural teams if you like to dabble in a little friendly competition. I brought a lot of my hobbies from Merrimack to Keene but rarely use them because there is so much to do here! My biggest regret is not bringing a vacuum and I hope that says something to you. I hope you find Keene State as welcoming as I did. Peace. Love. Sizzler.

Hello! I’m Ashley Chopelas and I’m going to be a sophomore here at Keene State. I’m an Elementary Education and Psychology major and I might do a math minor as well. I’ve spent almost my whole life in Salem, New Hampshire where Canobie Lake Park is and right near the Massachusetts border and am so excited I found a college I love in my home state.

I love to be active and I have the chance here where I am part of the Keene State Dance Team, we just came back from a national championship where we got eighth in the nation! You could also find me in the gym working out, in the library or Student Center doing homework or in the DC hanging out with friends.

I’m so glad that you have chosen Keene to be your home away from home and I can’t wait to see you here for Owl Orientation!

Sam Clough

Sam Clough

Hey everyone! My name is Sam and I will be a sophomore this upcoming fall. Helping people has always been a goal of mine, so I am currently majoring in Psychology. I’ve spent my entire life in New Hampshire and grew up in a small town called Barrington, no more than twenty minutes from the seacoast.

Some of my hobbies include traveling, playing and watching soccer, spending time with friends, and exploring outside. I have been more than fortunate to have traveled to extraordinary destinations like the waterfalls of Iceland, to the bustling streets of Italy, and I hope to see more as I continue through life.

One of the things that I love most about Keene State is the sense of community, Whether it’s your first day or your last here, I have always felt welcome and encouraged to be my very best self and I hope you do too. I am excited to help you all make the transition this summer, and I look forward to meeting you all!

Ally Cvinar

Hello! My name is Allison. I’m from Pelham NH, and grew up there my whole life. There I played basketball, track, soccer, and horseback riding. I am an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hiking, camping and anything outside. I am also an artist, I work with clay, ceramics, paint, sculpture work, and photography. I am a sophomore here at KSC.

This will be my first year being an orientation leader, which I’m super stoked about! I am a double major in Elementary Education, and Studio Art.

I love to keep busy and be a part of as many of the activities here at Keene State. I am on the Ultimate Frisbee team, which has given me the awesome opportunity to be a part of an awesome team and to travel almost every weekend for tournaments. My friends and I go hiking or exploring every week.

There are so many beautiful places not too far from campus to see and explore! I’ve made so many new memories and amazing friends here at KSC, and I cannot wait to help you all and be a part of your very first memories here.

Gianni DeMasco

Gianni DeMasco

Hello, I’m Gianni and I’m a junior at Keene State. I am going for a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a minor in Economics. One of the many reasons I chose Keene State is because of its perfect size. You can always find someone you know, yet there are enough students for you to always meet someone new.

Some of my hobbies include photography, Ultimate Frisbee, skiing, basketball, and pretty much any intramural sport. Traveling will always hold a special place in my heart. I’ve been lucky enough to experience the cultures of Italy, China, Mexico, the Caribbean, Ireland, England, Spain, and lots of different states in America. I hope to continue traveling and taking pictures my entire life.

Orientation will be an amazing time, and I know you will enjoy it as much as I did. Welcome home!

Sarah Dugas

Sarah Dugas

Hey everyone! My name is Sarah Dugas and I’m from Canterbury, Connecticut! This coming fall I will be a Senior here at Keene State. I am an English Literature Major!

I joined Student Government as soon as I could, starting as a Representative for the Class of 2019 and then became the University System Student Board Representative (complicated title but I’d be happy to explain it). I am now the Student Body Vice President!

Over winter break last school year I went on an Alternative Break to Roanoke Virginia and volunteered in a daycare for a week! This is my second year being an Orientation Leader and I am so excited to help you all through this exciting transition!!

Bryan Everitt

Bryan Everitt

Hi my name is Bryan and I’ll be a sophomore here at Keene State this fall. I hail from Long Island New York, where I grew up sailing, clamming, and just chilling on the Great South Bay. I’m also an avid snowboarder so Keene is a great location for me. In addition to this I love skateboarding, drawing, and woodworking.

The reason I came to Keene State College was because of their Sustainable Product Design and Innovation major. I definitely made the right choice because unlike high school, I love all my classes. It’s truly refreshing to study topics your passionate about.

Outside of being an orientation leader, the only extracurricular activity I’ve participated in is the intramural floor hockey league. With that being said though, Keene State provides a lot of great opportunities, and I definitely plan on becoming more involved in the future.

When I first came up to Keene I immediately received a very warm welcome, and became immersed in the wonderful community that is Keene State. This time around I’m very exited to be on the other side of things and show you all the ropes of KSC.

Em Foy

Emily Foy

Hi there! My name is Emily and I am going to be a junior here at Keene State studying Political Science and Management. I’m from a small town in New York called Brewster, just an hour away from the Big Apple! Outside of classes, I’m involved in greek life, give tours for Admissions, and am the treasurer for my class. I also enjoying hanging out in the Student Center with friends, grabbing great food downtown, and doing homework on our quad when it’s nice out!

This is my first year being an Orientation leader and I’m super pumped to meet you all and help you transition into this exciting new chapter! Keene State is my second home and the greatest part about it is that there is something here for everyone, and I hope to help you all find your niches here throughout our diverse campus! I can’t wait to meet you all in June and show you more about Keene!

Tony Gentile

Tony Gentile

My name is Tony, I’m from Plaistow, NH, and I will be a senior this year double majoring in Theatre with a concentration in Acting and Psychology, so there’s never a dull moment for me here! I have been in love with KSC from the first minute I toured the school and still feel that way today. The community on and off campus is so inviting and supportive, it really has become a second home to me over the years!

I hope you will be able to get as amazing of an experience at Keene State as I have and will take every advantage that comes your way because, believe me, there will be many, and there is no better time to get involved than these next four years. If you ever need me, 9 times out of 10 you can find me downtown at Brewbakers since I basically live there, and I regret nothing about it. I can’t wait to meet you all and I hope you’re excited to start your journey at KSC!

Zak Grupp

Zak Grupp

Hi, my name is Zachary and I will be a sophomore here at Keene State College this upcoming fall. I grew up in Valley Stream, NY and moved to Montpelier, VT in 7th grade. After graduating from Montpelier High School I moved to Randolph Center, VT and to Keene State!

I am currently an Elementary Education major with a secondary in History. I am planning on doing a third major in Geography as well. I decided to go to Keene State for multiple reasons. One being the fact that Keene State had the perfect program for me. The education program here is outstanding. I also love it here because the people here are welcoming and friendly. Walking around this beautiful campus and being able to say hello to people whether you know them or not is awesome!

I am a huge sports guy. When it comes to watching sports I enjoy watching professional hockey and baseball but also college football and basketball. I have played on many intramural teams here at Keene including being a captain for a few. Some of those include flag football, deck hockey, dodge ball, and bowling. Being involved in programs here at Keene makes the experience even better than before. When I’m not doing homework or playing intramurals I enjoy hanging out with friends and sleeping.

I’m super excited to meet you all here over the summer! Keene State has lots to offer and I’m excited to show you guys why this place is like a second home. Welcome to Keene State!

Isabelle Handy

Isabella Handy

Hello everyone!! My name is Isabelle, a sophomore here at Keene State, and I am so excited to be an orientation leader! I’m from Fitzwilliam NH and I’m a triple major in English Literature, English Writing, and Secondary Education. I am a member of the Honors Program on campus and I’m always trying to stay involved! When I’m not studying I’m either dancing, singing, hanging out with my two wonderful black labs, out with friends, at the gym, or hammocking with a great book. I’m a huge music nerd and I’m always down to hear suggestions for new music!

I’m so happy to be your orientation leader and I can’t wait to show you why Keene State is the best school around! This school will offer you amazing opportunities every single day. I love it here and I know you will too! It’s always a great day to be an owl! I am so glad you made the decision to come here, I know it was the best decision of my life, and I hope you’ll feel the same! See you soon!

Jack Hanson

Jack Hanson

Hi! My name is Jack and I am a sophomore at Keene State! I am currently studying Safety and Women and Gender studies and I’m an orientation leader. On campus, I am a part of outing club and play any intramural sport I can! I work for KSC Reads where I am a teaching aid and responsible for 15 three to five-year olds which is perfect because I am a bigger version of a four-year old. (Or so I’ve been told)

I’m a big people person and I love making people laugh so ask about Kevin from Up or Stitch, you won’t regret it! Huge lover of sports, animals, friends, and Keene State of course. I can’t wait to meet you guys!

Caroline Hentz

Caroline Hentz

Hello, incoming Owls! My name is Caroline and I will be a sophomore this fall. I am a Theatre Major with a concentration in Acting. I am originally from Harvard, Massachusetts (not the school, but rather a small town around 45 minutes west of Harvard University). Growing up in such a small town meant that I knew just about everyone in my town, which is why I chose Keene, because of its amazing sense of community.

I have been involved in performances working both on stage in “No Zebras No Excuses” and off stage as an Assistant Stage Manager for the puppet show, Detective Sent-Tout last semester! I love hanging out with my friends, jamming out on my ukulele, and eating Sizzlers from the Night Owl Café!

I am excited to aid the new students in their transition at Keene State College because, trust me, it can be hectic and nerve-racking. My goal for orientation this year is to encourage the new students to put themselves out there and try things that they never thought they’d try - after all, isn’t that what college is all about? I look forward to a great Orientation 2018!

Patrick Holden

Patrick Holden

Hey everyone! I’m Patrick and I am beyond excited to be an Orientation Leader for the first time! I will be entering my junior year at Keene State this fall, which is just so crazy to think about! I am currently a Secondary Education and History double major and plan on becoming a high school Social Studies teacher once I graduate.

Outside of the classroom, I am very involved in different groups around campus. I am a member of Keene State’s only acapella group, Chock Full O’ Notes (aka CFON), which you should definitely check out if you’re into music and acapella! I am also a part of Group Theatre, a student-run theatre organization which puts on a bunch of different projects throughout the year. During the second half of the summer, I will be starting my second year as a counselor and sixth year as an attendant at YPCCA, a theatre camp in central Connecticut. My favorite activities are singing, acting, writing, hiking, taking photos, and hanging out with friends! I love to travel, and have been all down the East Coast, parts of the West (California and Arizona), and have even been to Québec, Canada! I also hope to travel to Ireland next spring through Keene’s amazing Study Away program.

I am so excited to meet every single one of you. Going to Keene State has been one of the best decisions of my life, and I can’t wait to share my love and passion for this school and community with you all! Go Owls!

Emma Johnson

Emma Johnson

I am a sophomore at Keene State College double majoring in Elementary Education and Theatre with a specialization in Design/Technical. It is my first year being an Orientation Leader and I am so excited to meet you all and welcome you to Keene State!

I love being busy and so during my first year at Keene I pursued many different clubs/interests including Honors Council, Alternative Break, Group Theatre, and Tech Crew for theatre productions at the Redfern Arts Center. Keene offers so many different opportunities and I aim to experience as many as I can before I graduate. As part of the Keene State Honors program I get the incredible opportunity to participate in a class that allows me to travel abroad at the end of my sophomore year and I cannot wait. I look forward to showing you how amazing Keene State College is and seeing what you choose to get involved in!

Hey everybody! My name is Bryce and I’m beyond excited to be your Keene State College Orientation Leader! This is my first year as an Orientation Leader and I am honored to be able to welcome each and everyone of you to Keene State College.

I am beginning my sophomore year here at K.S.C. and I am a Music Education major. Outside of my academics, I am in the Keene State Concert Band and Flute Ensemble. I also help run the concerts and recitals by being a part of the Redfern Arts Center concert staff.

I consider myself to have a boisterous personality while also being able to separate fun from work. I love nature, running, Netflix and don’t get me started about dogs. My main goal in life is to have a big enough yard for all my dogs.

I am super excited to help you all begin your journey here at Keene State!

Some of the things that I use my time with is being a tour guide on campus (I may have given you your tour; It all comes full circle), I am a Resident Assistant on campus, as well as I am the Vice President for Fair Trade club. When I am not doing any of that you can probably find me at bingo or one of the late-night programs at the Student Center.

Keene State was my first choice when deciding on college and I still love it just as much as I did when I came for my first tour here. And I cannot wait to show you all what KSC is all about!

Hey Friends! Let me begin by taking a moment to congratulate you on joining the Keene State College family! I may be a bit biased, but you made an excellent decision! I hope Keene State opens as many doors for you as it has for me! Now on to me, my name is Danielle and I am from Chicopee, Massachusetts. Through Keene State College I have had the opportunity to become involved with the American Institute of Architecture Students, AIAS. AIAS and Keene State College has granted me several opportunities to make valuable connections with fellow students, faculty, and industry members. It has given me the opportunity to attend conferences in Boston, Toronto, Washington D.C, Austin, and New York City. In addition, I work at the student Center as part of the Info-Desk/Set Up Team. This employment has allowed me to dig deeper into the Keene State Community.

I urge all incoming students to find what you are passionate about and run with it! Keene State College has all of the tools and support that you need to succeed! Good Luck and I can’t wait to see you on Appian Way!

Meredith Ritter

My name is Meredith Ritter and I will be a senior, majoring in Elementary Education with a focus in Sociology next year. Throughout my whole life helping others and being a friend to everyone has made me who I am. I love when people ask me questions and look to me for their solution. I am beyond excited to be an Orientation Leader again this year and have the opportunity to ease students’ transitions into college life and represent how rewarding it is to be a student here at Keene State College.

In addition, my goal is to be a role model for students and show them the best way to experience college is to be who you are. I want students to show their diversities and create a community among one another. Last year was my first year on staff and it was one of the most rewarding and amazing experiences I have ever had. I know that this upcoming orientation will be just as great! I cannot wait to meet you all!

Ashley Rollend

Ashley Rollend

Heyo! My name is Ashley and I am an incoming Junior this academic year. I’m a dual major in Elementary Education and English-Writing, and have loved every single one of my classes here at Keene State. I am originally from a small town called Litchfield, NH, only an hour away from school! However, I love KSC so much, I rarely go home on the weekends. There are so many great restaurants to eat at and places to visit in Keene, so you won’t have to worry about being bored!

On campus, I’m involved in quite a lot. I am in the Honors Program, perform with the Theatre and Dance Department, have attended an Alternative Break trip, am a member of Sigma Tau Delta (the English honors society), and am joining Greek life! The opportunities Keene State has provided me, and will provide you, are endless. When I’m not writing another essay or running across campus to a meeting, you can find me devouring a sundae at Rick’s or hitting up the local thrift stores.

On sunny days, I also love riding my bike around campus or taking a drive over to one of the many mountains that border Keene. There is so much to do and so many people to meet here at Keene State, that I truly believe the college will change your life for the better. I have met lifelong friends here, discovered my true passions, and have only gotten more and more excited for my future since I stepped onto this campus. This will be my second year on the orientation staff and this year I am a summer assistant so I am sure you’ll see me around, don’t be afraid to say hi!

I made the best decision of my life and put my deposit down as soon as I could. I have made so many memories and friends during my time here and I will one hundred percent miss this place when I graduate but get ready because even though my four years are almost over, yours are just starting!
