Athletics- Chi Alpha Sigma, Theta Chapter

Chi Alpha Sigma is a nonprofit organization established to recognize college student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition. Our honor society is the first and only academic fraternity that specifically recognizes four-year collegiate student-athletes for their athletic and academic successes.

Biology - Beta Beta Beta

Presently Inactive

Beta Beta Beta was chartered in 1966. Activities include regular meetings, organizing and participating in a graduate student seminar series and attending biology conferences. The national Beta Beta Beta has provided research grants to members.


Communication - Lambda Pi Eta

Lambda Pi Eta is an honor society for communication majors at Keene State College that rewards outstanding scholastic achievement, promotes professional development, and establishes close relationships between students and faculty, among other great things. The Zeta Mu chapter of Lamba Pi Eta was established in 1998


Computer Science - Upsilon Pi Epsilon

The New Hampshire Beta chapter of Upsilon Pi Epsilon was established in 2001. The mission of UPE is to recognize academic excellence at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Computing and Information Disciplines.


Economics - Omicron Delta Epsilon

Presently Inactive

The KSC chapter was established in 1994. It hosts guest speakers and informal events to provide students with opportunities to learn about the Economics program and future course offerings.


Education - Kappa Delta Pi

Kappa Delta Pi is the oldest honor society at KSC, chartered in 1943. Fostering high ideals of the education profession, it promotes excellence in and recognizes outstanding contributions to education. Education Program


English - Sigma Tau Delta

The Upsilon Pi chapter of Sigma Tau Delta has been a part of KSC since 1986. It is very active, sponsoring poetry readings, open poetry mike nights, sponsoring weekly reading discussion circles, and field trips.


Health Science - Eta Sigma Gamma

The KSC Eta Sigma Gamma chapter was chartered in 2005. Eta Sigma Gamma, the national honor society for health education, has a rich history of serving students through teaching, service and research.


History - Phi Alpha Theta

The Alpha Beta Tau chapter of Phi Alpha Theta was chartered in 1985. It promotes the study of History through the encouragement of research, good teaching, publication, and the exchange of learning and thought among historians.


Holocaust and Genocide Studies - Zeta Chi Rho

Zeta Chi Rho and its Alpha chapter, both founded at Keene State College in 2009, exist to recognize superior academic work in the field of Holocaust and Genocide Studies, and to promote in-depth study of the Holocaust and genocide through research and the healthy exchange of ideas and scholarship.


Management - Delta Mu Delta

Delta Mu Delta is an international honor society in the field of business administration. The Keene chapter was chartered in 1993.


Mathematics - Kappa Mu Epsilon

Advisor: Caitlyn Parmelee 358-2801

Kappa Mu Epsilon was chartered in 1993. Its purpose is to recognize mathematic achievement, promote appreciation of mathematics, and provide social activities for mathematics students. Activities have included promoting mathematics during mathematics awareness week, participating in conferences and field trips.


Music - Pi Kappa Lambda

Pi Kappa Lambda’s purpose is to provide an organization dedicated to the furtherance of music in education and education in music in colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher learning, which offer music degree programs in one or more fields. The primary objective of the Society is the recognition and encouragement of the highest level of musical achievement and academic scholarship.


The Order of Omega

Advisor: Brandon Mathieu 358-2018

The purpose of The Order of Omega shall be threefold. First, to recognize those students who have attained a high standard of leadership and academics in inter-Greek activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment. Second, to bring together the most representative fraternity and sorority members, and to create an organization which will help mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate affairs. Third, to bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution’s fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and cooperation.


Physical Education - Phi Epsilon Kappa

The Epsilon Delta chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa is the KSC Phys. Ed. Honorary Fraternity. PEK is a National Professional Fraternity serving men and women in the fields of: Physical Education, Health, Recreation, Dance, Athletic Training, Human Performance, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, and Sports Management. Chapters traditionally engage in activities to promote the objectives of the Fraternity and have included sponsorship of seminars, clinics, workshops, and other educational activities. Scholarship is promoted through the Fraternity’s scholarship and award program. Collegiate chapters often devote many hours of service to their respective school communities.


Psychology - Psi Chi

Psi Chi is the international honor society in psychology. Its purpose is to provide academic recognition and to offer a climate that stimulates thought through activities that complement and enrich the curriculum.


Safety and Occupational Health Applied Sciences - Rho Sigma Kappa

The purpose of Rho Sigma Kappa is to:

  • Honor and recognize those students and members of the Safety Studies profession who distinguish themselves through academic achievement and exemplary character.
  • Foster scholarship and promote student leadership.
  • Contribute to the advancement of professionalism in safety.

Sociology - Alpha Kappa Delta

We are the Beta of NH Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Honor Society that recognizes students’ achievements and interest in sociology. The purpose of our chapter is to promote scholarship, understanding, and interest in sociology.


Spanish - Sigma Delta Pi

The Keene Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the national Spanish honor society, was chartered in 1982. It promotes excellence in the study of the Spanish language and in the study of the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples.


Theatre and Dance - Alpha Psi Omega

Reinstated in 2010, the Keene State College Lambda Beta Chapter of Alpha Psi Omega works to honor and encourage academic excellence and collaborative involvement in the fields of Theatre and Dance. Our goals are to be a positive presence in the department, the college and the greater Keene community, and to be a source of leadership and mentorship for our peers.


Women’s and Gender Studies - Triota Gamma Kappa

Our purpose as Triota Gamma Kappa is to provide an environment to foster relationships among students and faculty, to promote interest and awareness of gender issues, and academically represent the mission of Women’s & Gender Studies Department at Keene State College.

The Iota Iota Iota (Triota) honor societies stand for the three goddesses Ishtar, Isis, and Inanna. Metropolitan State College of Denver established the first Triota induction in the Fall of 1992 in order to recognize the academic achievements of students in Women’s Studies. Triota Gamma Kappa strives to maintain the feminist values of egalitarianism, inclusiveness, and diversity inherent in feminist thought and practice.

The Triota Gamma Kappa chapter was brought to Keene State College by a dedicated group of Women’s and Gender Studies majors and minors in spring 2013 as a part of their Capstone project.
