Enjoy your summer by embarking on an exploration of New England'snatural wonders with this Nature Immersion course, designed forboth students and teachers alike. Dive into the intricacies ofanimal tracks and signs, honing the skill of trailing animals tounderstand their dynamic interactions with the environment.Uncover the rich tapestry of ecosystems of New England,encompassing diverse habitats and their inhabitants. Identifyplants, fungi, insects, birds, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals.Our engaging field trips will traverse landscapes near Keene, thescenic Connecticut valley, and New England's sandy plains,offering a moderately challenging experience (but adaptable toyour pace) with some off-trail hiking through hills, valleys, andsandy areas. Field trips on Wednesdays. Monday class sessionsdelve into biology, animal behavior, ecology, taxonomy, and thegeographical nuances of New England. We will also use this timeto work on course projects. The course is designed forenvironmental science or biology students and teachers. Immerseyourself in the natural beauty of New England, cultivating aprofound connection to the natural world.
