Comments: COURSE DESCRIPTION: . How does nature inspire us to connect with our deeper selves?. How do we express our connection to nature through ourcreativity?This course explores the relationship between experiences innature and the creative process. How does nature inspire us toconnect with our deeper selves? How do we give form to ourconnection with nature through creative expression? Discussionswill focus on a variety of artistic expressions by nature writersand artists. Blended format will include in-class and onlineactivities and allow for weekly field trips to natural siteswhere a variety of creative modalities will be explored:including journal writing and sketching, clay sculpture,photography, movement and meditation. Each student will chooseone form of expression for a final project portfolio and keep areflective journal of their process. In addition to sharing hislove of nature and writing, Prof. Taylor will invite severalguest artists to share their process in working in nature withclay, field sketching, and movement.
