Comments: This course seeks to introduce students to environmental sciencethrough the exploration of Earth's most challenging environments,areas that experience extremes in climate or other physicalfactors. Through a combination of lectures, videos, activities,and discussions, we will seek to understand the basic patternsand processes found in extreme ecosystems including polarsystems, high alpine environments, deep ocean ecosystems as wellas deserts. This is an online course using blended instructionthat meets synchronously once per week. To meet the 4 credit IN course requirement, there is another2-credit INENST 199 in Summer Session 2, which would add up to 4credits of INENST 199.
