Counseling Center Receives International Accreditation
The Counseling Center at Keene State College has been accredited by the International Association of Counseling Services, Inc., an organization of United States, Canadian, and Australian counseling agencies.
The Counseling Center was evaluated by IACS against the high standards of counseling practice and was found to offer competent and reliable professional services to its clientele.
Full accreditation directly reflects that the entire Center (services, relationships to other departments, staffing qualifications, training program, adherence to professional ethics, etc.) was rigorously evaluated by IACS against the highest standards of counseling practice and was found to demonstrate excellence in the field of college mental health. Approval by IACS is also dependent upon evidence of continuing professional development, as well as demonstration of excellence of counseling performance.
The Counseling Center offers a broad range of emotional health services on campus, including individual and group counseling, consultation, crisis intervention, prevention and well-being programming, outreach, and educational programs.
IACS was established in 1972 to encourage and aid counseling agencies to meet high professional standards through peer evaluation and to inform the public about counseling services that are competent and reliable.
