Levi Hill, BS, Exercise Science, with a specialization in Human Performance

Levi Hill has always been self-directed. At Monadnock High School in Swanzey, NH, he knew he wanted to go straight into the Marine Corps after graduation, so he worked out to be ready for boot camp. By the time he received his honorable discharge from the Marines five years later, in 2018, he had risen to the rank of corporal, was a marksmanship instructor, and was certified as a personal trainer. He had already been admitted to Keene State’s exercise science program, which he attacked with the same determination. In three years, he completed all requirements for his degree, and now is headed directly to a prestigious internship for the summer, followed by graduate study.

“At Keene State, I had to learn how athletes train. By working with Sarah Testo, the strength and conditioning coach, I was exposed to all of the sports, and I’m so thankful for that,” Levi said. “All of my professors were so helpful, but Sarah’s mentorship was key. Each sport has distinctive movements, and I learned to use functional exercises that replicate those movements.”

Levi interns this summer as a strength and conditioning coach for an Army Special Operations unit at Fort Bragg, NC. In August, he will enter a master’s program in strength and conditioning at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.
