Craig Sylvern, professor of music, was the guest artist at the 2016 Florida State University SaxoFest, hosted by Professor Patrick Meighan (2nd from right in photo). Dr. Sylvern performed a recital of works composed for him as well as works he has adapted for saxophone. The final selection of the recital was one of his own compositions, Et Ha’Masah, performed by the FSU Graduate Saxophone Quartet.  In addition to the recital, he held a master class for FSU College of Music saxophone students and presented a lecture entitled, “Keep Your Eye on the Prize—Collecting skills on the way to your goal.” The SaxoFest concluded with a performance by the Jason Kaplan jazz quartet.
