On the Rise: Keene State College's New Technology, Design, and Safety Center Progression

Keene, NH, August 25, 2011: Keene State College (KSC) today announced the start of the structural foundation for the Technology, Design and Safety (TDS) Center. Careful demolition of Adams Technology Center has been completed, and removal of the addition to Butterfield Hall is currently underway. In preparation for laying the foundation and more visible progress, pile driving will begin next week, lasting for approximately four weeks.

Keene State College Vice President for Finance and Planning, Jay Kahn, issued the following statement about the progress:

“The Technology, Design and Safety Center will be the first of its kind among higher education facilities in the nation - it will be a tremendous asset to students, the College and our community. We are enormously grateful to our community for working with us during this time of demolition and building. We have been careful to ensure a meticulous demolition process to safely remove materials, and to maximize recycling of materials.

“I am pleased that our contractor, Engelberth Construction Co., is prepared to begin the process of setting piles and a foundation. More visible progress will come soon, and we will do our best to keep our community informed of our work,” concluded Kahn.
