KSC Faculty and Guest Artist Recital

KEENE, N.H., 3/23/10 - The Keene State College Music Department presents its final faculty and guest artist recital of the 2009-10 season on Friday, April 9, 2010, at 7:30 p.m., in the Alumni Recital Hall, Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond.

The concert will feature Don Baldini’s Ragtime Band in a performance of ragtime music by Scott Joplin, including the very popular The Entertainer. The band is comprised of KSC faculty and special guest artists from throughout New England, including David Sporny and Phil Bloch. The program will also feature Christopher Swist in a performance of innovative works for solo marimba, including Marta Ptaszynska’s Graffito, Joseph Schwantner’s Velocities, and Swist’s own Prelude. The program will open with The Keene Chamber Quartet (David Flemming, Sussan Henkel, Joy Flemming, Robert Blake) in a performance of Bill Douglas’s Quartet for flute, oboe, bassoon, and piano.

Admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for KSC students, senior citizens, and youth ages 17 and under. Tickets will be available at the door, or call the box office at 603-358-2168.
