Keene State Graphic Design Seniors Show Portfolios April 17

KEENE, N.H. 3/27/09 - More than 20 Keene State College seniors majoring in graphic design will open their portfolios and showcase their best design work on Friday, April 17, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Media Arts Center on the KSC campus.

The portfolio review showcases the best design work each student has produced while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree at Keene State College. Graphic design students are required to take a portfolio seminar in which they prepare a professional presentation of their work. During this class, taught by Robert Kostick, assistant professor of Art/Graphic Design, students complete a wide variety of design-related projects including print, web, and multimedia featuring brochures, logo designs, websites, animation projects, and editorial design.

The students who will display their graphic design work at the portfolio review are: Kayla Aucoin, North Kingston, R.I.; Stephanie Beck, Keene, N.H.; Scott Brucato, Milford, Mass.; Bonnie Centauro, Lanesborough, Mass.; Melissa Ciaramella, Keene, N.H.; Jessie Creighton, Windham, Maine; Annaca Donaldson, New Ipswich, N.H.; Rosalie Garlow, Hopkinton, N.H.; Hunter Guerin, Newport, R.I.; Richard Hartman, Westfield, Mass.; Jon Holden, Newton, N.H.; Ty Keeler, Pembroke, N.H.; Elice Laughner, Nelson, N.H.; Erica Littlefield, East Greenwich, R.I.; Matt Lowe, Hudson, Mass.; Marina McDonald, Lewiston, Maine; Katie Paine, Bradford, N.H.; Stephanie Roy, Berlin, N.H.; Carleen A. Ryan, Pittsfield, Mass.; Robb St. Lawrence, Henniker, N.H.; Sara Stoklosa, Dalton, Mass.; Drew Walker, Hopkinton, N.H.; and Nicole Walsh, Rocky Hill, Conn.

Members of the local business community are encouraged to attend the event and review the portfolios of these graduating seniors. Students’ friends, family, and community members are also invited. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. For further information, call the Media Arts Center at 603-358-2770.

In conjunction with the Portfolio Review, the Art Department will sponsor an opening reception for “Emerging Art,” the Annual KSC Art Students Exhibition, on the same day, Friday, April 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Thorne- Sagendorph Art Gallery. This reception will be hosted by Friends of the Thorne and is free and open to the public.
