Arthur Miller And The Holocaust Is Topic Of Grayson Lecture At Keene State College
KEENE, N.H., 4/5/08 - Theatre historian Christopher Bigsby will present the annual Janet Grayson Lecture in Literary Studies, “How Jewish Is He? Arthur Miller and the Holocaust” on Thurs., Apr. 10, at 4 p.m. in the Mabel Brown Room, Student Center.
Bigsby, professor of American Studies at the University of East Anglia in Norwich, England, and director of its Arthur Miller Centre for American Studies, will speak about the American playwright Arthur Miller. His talk will include material from his forthcoming biography of Miller.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and of the Royal Society of Arts and has published more than 30 books covering American theatre, popular culture, and British drama.
Among his more recent books are Remembering and Imagining the Holocaust: The Chain of Memory, The Cambridge Companion to August Wilson, Neil LaBute: Stage and Cinema, Modern American Drama, 1945-2000, and Arthur Miller: A Critical Study. He co-edited the award-winning three-volume The Cambridge History of American Theatre with Don B. Wilmeth, Brown professor emeritus and currently holding a courtesy faculty appointment at KSC.
