Registration Opens for February Courses at Region 1 OSHA Education Center

KEENE, N.H., 01/30/08 - Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, is accepting registrations for four February courses. The institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education. Courses are taught throughout the region.

10-Hour Outreach Course in OSHA’s Construction Safety and Health Standards (NCSH 310) introduces construction hazard recognition and control and OSHA policies, procedures, and standards. Topics include OSH Act, General Duty Clause, electrical safety, fall protection, excavations, cranes, material handling, hand and power tools, personal protective equipment, scaffolds, stairways, and ladders. After successfully completing the course, students receive an OSHA construction safety and health 10-hour outreach course completion card. The February 7 to 8 course is taught in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers (502) for personnel who are active trainers in the outreach program, this course is an update on various OSHA topics, including construction standards, policies, and regulations. The course runs February 11 to 13 in Auburn, Maine.

Electrical Safe Work Practices (NCSH 470) provides updated information on NFPA 70E, OSHA electrical standards, and the NEC. The course runs February 12 in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers (503) is for private sector personnel who completed the 501 Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry and are active trainers in the outreach program. It provides an update on OSHA general industry standards and OSHA policies. The course runs February 13 to 15 in Auburn, Maine.

Tuition for OSHA courses is per person. Tuition for Course NCSH 310 is $290; Course 470 is $375; and Courses 502 and 503 is $750. Group discounts for five or more students to attend one course are available, as is on-site training for groups of at least 10 or more participants.
