Registration Opens For KSC's Cheshire Academy For Lifelong Learning Fall Program

KEENE, N.H. 8/23/06 - Keene State College’s Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning announces registration is open for its fall classes. CALL, founded in the mid-1990’s, is an educational program for seniors and retired people in the Monadnock region.

Classes on bird behavior and physiology, the poet laureates of the United States, understanding terrorism, global warming, volcanoes and earthquakes, philanthropy and power, animal behavior and human parallels, and Gilbert and Sullivan are among the 16 courses offered.

Courses, taught mainly by KSC faculty, are noncredit and non-graded. CALL participants take an active role in planning the courses and occasionally leading classes. The $60 registration fee permits participants to take as many courses as they wish during the semester.

Classes run from Friday, September 22, through Friday, November 17, with no class on Friday, November 10, in observance of Veterans Day.

Students are free to change classes at any time. Registration is open until the first day of class.

On September 22, in the Harry Davis Room in the Arts Center, KSC’s Office of Continuing Education hosts a 4 p.m. tea and coffee reception for instructors and those registered for the fall session.

Details about the reception and CALL information are available at KSC’s Continuing Education Office (603-358-2290). The office is located in Elliot Hall, Room 144.
