Former Chief Pilot for Delta Airlines Talks About Lessons Learned on 9/11

KEENE, N.H. 3/22/06 - Keene State College’s Department of Continuing Education and Extended Studies brings Captain Alan Price, chief pilot for Delta Airlines on 9/11/2001, to campus on March 29.

In his 6:30 p.m. talk, Leadership in a Time of Crisis, Price shares stories of leadership and lessons learned during and immediately after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Describing examples of leadership in situations ranging from the flight deck to Delta’s board room, Captain Price details qualities of effective leadership in times of crisis, closing with reflections on planning for and navigating successfully through crises.

Spanning five decades, Price’s experience includes flying military and civilian aircraft. A decorated combat veteran, he is a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and United States Air Force Command Pilot Wings, among other unit and presidential citations. A graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Air Force Flight School, Captain Price graduated from Georgia State University with a master of science in decision science.

A certificate acknowledging attendance is given to those who want documentation for purposes of requesting continuing education units from their credentialing agencies. Free and open to the public, the event is scheduled in the Madison Street Lounge (first floor) of the Student Center on the Keene State College campus. Public parking is found in the commuter lot at the end of Madison Street and in the faculty/staff lots at the end of Wyman Way.
