Region I OSHA Education Center Offers 7 Safety Courses in May
KEENE, N.H. 3/21/05 - The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, N.H., offers seven safety courses in May.
The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education. Unless otherwise noted, all classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday at the Region I OSHA Training Institute at the Manchester, N.H., Airport. Tuition for each course is $695.
Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 510) introduces entry-level personnel to basic construction safety standards and is a prerequisite for attendance in other construction courses. This course is offered May 2-6.
Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 500) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour construction courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course meets May 9-13.
Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the General Industry (OSHA 511) covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as general industry safety and health principles. This classes is scheduled May 16-20.
Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 501) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour general industry courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is scheduled May 23-27.
OSHA Guide to Voluntary Compliance in Industrial Hygiene (OSHA 521) covers permissible exposure limits, OSHA health standards, respiratory protection, engineering controls, hazard communication, OSHA sampling procedures and strategy, workplace health program elements, and other industrial hygiene issues. The class is scheduled May 16-20 at Keene State College in Keene, N.H.
Disaster Site Train-the-Trainer (OSHA 5600) prepares participants to present OSHA’s 16-hour Disaster Site Worker Course. The class meets Monday to Thursday, May 2-5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuition is $795.
OSHA’s Ergonomics Guidelines Training for Nursing Homes (OSHA 7000) is for nursing home administrators or human resource personnel who are responsible for developing an ergonomics process. The class meets Friday, May 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuition is $170.
