Region I OSHA Education Center Offers Safety Courses throughout New England

KEENE, N.H. 1/3/05 - The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, N.H., offers four safety courses in February at three locations in New England.

The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education. Unless otherwise noted, classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday and tuition for each course is $695.

Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 510) introduces entry-level personnel to basic construction safety standards and is a prerequisite for attendance in other construction courses. This course is offered Feb. 28 to March 4 at the Region I OSHA Training Institute at the Manchester, N.H., Airport.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 500) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour construction courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is offered Feb. 14-18 at the Safety Training Institute in Hartford, Conn.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 501) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour general industry courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is scheduled Feb. 7-11 at the Windjammer Inn and Conference Center in South Burlington, Vt.

Twenty-Four Hour Emergency Responder Basic Health and Safety Training (NCSH 438) combines interactive classroom activities, dress-out in level A Suits, and live emergency simulations to prepare student for a proper emergency response. The course, offered in partnership with The New England Consortium at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, meets Tuesday to Thursday, Feb. 1-3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Region I OSHA Training Institute in Manchester, N.H.
