Region I Osha Education Center Offers Safety Courses in January

KEENE, N.H. 11/30/04 - The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, N.H., offers four safety courses in January including one that can be taught in Spanish.

The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Continuing Education Office. Unless otherwise noted, classes take place at the Region I OSHA Training Institute at the Manchester Airport and tuition for each course is $695.

Ten-Hour Outreach Course in OSHA’s Construction Safety and Health Standards (NCSH 310) introduces construction managers and employees to construction hazard recognition and control and OSHA policies, procedures, and standards. The class, which can be taught in Spanish or English, meets from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, and 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21. Tuition is $250.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 500) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour construction courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is offered Jan. 10-14 meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 501) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour general industry courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is scheduled Jan. 10-14 meeting from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday.

Respiratory Protection (OSHA 2225) covers the requirements for the establishment, maintenance, and monitoring of a respirator program. Topics include terminology, OSHA standards, NIOSH certification, and medical evaluation recommendations. This course is scheduled Jan. 3-6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday.
