Region I OSHA Center Offers 4 Safety Courses in November

KEENE, N.H. 10/4/04 - The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, N.H., offers four safety courses in November. The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education.

All classes take place at the Region I OSHA Training Institute at the Manchester Airport. Payment and registration should be received two weeks in advance of the scheduled date to assure a place in the course.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 500) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour construction courses that earn participants OSHA cards. The class meets Nov. 15-19 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday. Tuition is $695.

Fall Arrest Systems (OSHA 3110) covers the principles of fall protection, the components of fall arrest systems, the limitations of fall arrest equipment, and OSHA policies regarding fall protection. The course features a one-day field exercise demonstrating fall protection equipment. The class meets Nov. 1-4 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday.

OSHA’s Ergonomics Guidelines Training for Nursing Homes (OSHA 7000) is designed for nursing home administrators and/or human resource personnel with the responsibility to develop an ergonomics process. The class meets 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8. Tuition is $170.

OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule (OSHA 7845) assists private-sector personnel who have responsibilities under OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule 29 CFR 1904. This course meets 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Nov. 9. Tuition is $100.
