New England OSHA Center Offers Safety Courses in November

KEENE, N.H. 10/8/03 - The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center, in Manchester, N.H., has scheduled four safety courses in November. The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education. All classes take place at the Region I OSHA Training Institute located at the Manchester Airport.

Fall Arrest Systems (OSHA 3110, formerly 311) provides an overview of state- of-the-art technology for fall protection and current OSHA requirements. The course meets Nov. 3-6 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to noon on Thursday. Tuition is $680.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 500) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour construction courses that earn participants OSHA cards. The course is scheduled Nov. 17-21 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday. Tuition is $680.

OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule (OSHA 7845, formerly 845) is designed to assist private-sector personnel who have responsibilities under OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule 29 CFR 1904. This course is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 14, from 8 a.m. to noon. Tuition is $95.

OSHA’s Ergonomics Guidelines Training for Nursing Homes (OSHA 7000) is designed for nursing home administrators and/or human resource personnel with the responsibility to develop an ergonomics process. The class meets from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13. Tuition is $160.
