Spring Registration Under Way

KEENE, N.H. 11/18/02 - The Keene State College Continuing Education Office opens registration for spring semester classes on Monday, Nov. 25. Many courses are offered during the 16-week semester, which starts Jan. 21 and continues through May 9, including numerous credit and noncredit courses scheduled on weekends or for short terms.

Some new and interesting courses available this spring are:

A+ certification - two computer science courses that prepare students for the A+ test sponsored by CompTIA, which certifies the competency of entry-level service technicians.

Midrange Systems Development Certificate Program - A comprehensive iSeries technology curriculum is provided by this program, designed and developed in conjunction with the IBM Partners in Education Program.

Health and Wellness Courses - Developed and offered by Health Sciences faculty, with courses including Introduction to Eastern Healing Practices and Nutrition and Physical Well-Being.

Grantwriting Course - Participants in this two-day workshop learn how to write successful grant proposals.

Picturing Writing: Ocean Unit - In this two-day teacher training workshop on integrating art- and literature-based lessons into social studies or science curriculum.

Investment Decisions: Stock Selection - Students learn how to conduct an in- depth financial analysis of a company using specialized stock analysis software and online research tools.

Registration continues through Monday, Jan. 13, for full-semester courses. Registration for weekend and late-starting courses is open until the day the class begins. Early registration is encouraged because seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register in person, by phone, by fax, by mail, or by e-mail.

To register in person, visit the Continuing Education Office on the first floor of Elliot Hall on Main Street. Parking is available in the visitors parking lot on Wyman Way. The office is open 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday.

For fax and mail registrations, students should complete the registration form printed in the back of the Spring 2003 issue of Discovery, the Continuing Education magazine mailed to area residents the last week of November. Students can fax the form to 603-358-2569 or mail it to: Continuing Education and Extended Studies, Keene State College, 229 Main Street, Box 2605, Keene, N.H. 03435-2605.
