Keene State Offers Online/In-Person Courses

KEENE, N.H. 4/25/02 - Keene State College reduces the amount of time students must sit in the classroom this summer with courses that combine in-person and online learning.

Several courses are offered that meet once each week on the Keene State campus, with the remainder of time spent online. All courses are offered for three college credits.

Design and Reform of American Education, a course for educational professionals emphasizing current reform efforts and strategies, meets on Wednesdays, May 22-June 26, from 4:30 to 7:50 p.m. with half the class conducted online and half in the classroom.

School Effectiveness and Reform, another course for educators detailing state testing programs and other learning evaluation processes, is scheduled to meet in the classroom or online on Mondays, May 20-June 24, from 4:30 to 7:50 p.m.

Assessment of Exceptional Students is a special-education course detailing procedures to identify and assess student learning and behavior needs. The class meets in-person or online from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays, June 1, 15, and 22 and July 13 and 27.

Industrial Safety is a technology and safety course exploring scientific and engineering principles used to optimize safety and health effectiveness. The class is scheduled from 6 to 9:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 21 to June 27.

Legal Aspects of Safety, a technology and safety course that studies the liability and legal ramifications of accidents, meets from 6 to 9:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 21 to June 27.

Construction Safety Standards is a technology and safety course that introduces students to local, state, and federal health and safety regulations. The class meets Monday and Wednesday, July 1-Aug. 7, from 6 to 9 p.m. with some online instruction.
