Region I OSHA Education Center Offers 7 Courses in September

KEENE, N.H. 8/2/04 - The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center, in Manchester, N.H., has scheduled seven safety courses in September. The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education.

Most classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday. Unless otherwise noted, tuition for each course is $680 and classes take place at the Region I OSHA Training Institute at the Manchester Airport.

Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 510) introduces entry-level personnel to basic construction safety standards and is a prerequisite for attendance in other construction courses. The class meets Sept. 13-17.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 500) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour construction courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is offered Sept 20-24.

Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers (OSHA 502) must be completed within four years of the date of trainer authorization; it is required by OSHA to maintain outreach instructor status. This course meets Sept. 6-8 from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday. Tuition is $550.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for General Industry (OSHA 501) trains the student to conduct 10- and 30-hour general industry courses that earn participants OSHA cards. This course is scheduled Sept 13-17.

Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers (OSHA 503) must be completed within four years of the date of trainer authorization; it is required by OSHA to maintain outreach instructor status. This class meets Sept. 8-10 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Tuition is $550.

Hazardous Materials (OSHA 2015) covers OSHA standards for dealing with flammable and combustible liquids, compressed gases, LP gases, and cryogenic liquids. Related safety processes for spraying, dipping, and electrical equipment are also explained. The course meets Sept. 6-10.

OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule (OSHA 7845) assists private-sector personnel who have responsibilities under OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule 29 CFR 1904. This course is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Monday, Sept. 27. Tuition is $95.
