Region I OSHA Education Center Offers 6 Courses in July

KEENE, N.H. 6/14/04 ­ The Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center, in Manchester, N.H., has scheduled six safety courses in July. The Institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College¹s Office of Continuing Education.

Most classes meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Friday. Unless otherwise noted, tuition for each course is $680 and classes meet at the Region I OSHA Training Institute at the Manchester Airport.

Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (OSHA 510) introduces entry-level personnel to basic construction safety standards and is a prerequisite for attendance in other construction courses. The class meets July 5-9.

Update for Construction Industry Outreach Trainers (OSHA 502) must be completed within four years of the date of trainer authorization; it is required by OSHA to maintain outreach instructor status. This course is offered July 12-14 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 8:30 to noon Wednesday. Tuition is $550.

Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the General Industry (OSHA 511) covers OSHA policies, procedures, and standards, as well as general industry safety and health principles. This course is scheduled July 12-16.

Update for General Industry Outreach Trainers (OSHA 503) must be completed within four years of the date of trainer authorization; it is required by OSHA to maintain outreach instructor status. This course is offered July 14-16 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday. Tuition is $550.

Principles of Ergonomics Applied to Work-Related Musculoskeletal and Nerve Disorders (OSHA 2250) covers work physiology, anthropometry, musculoskeletal disorders, video display terminals, and risk factors such as vibration, temperature, manual handling, repetition, and continuous keyboard use. The course meets July 26-29 at Keene State College.

OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule (OSHA 7845) assists private-sector personnel who have responsibilities under OSHA’s Revised Recordkeeping Rule 29 CFR 1904. This course is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon on Friday, July 23. Tuition is $95.
