Governing Bodies

Panhellenic Council

Panhellenic Council crest

The Keene State College Panhellenic Council serves as the primary governing body for all recognized sororities on campus. The Executive Board is comprised of eight officers who are elected by members of the sorority community to serve for a period of one academic year. In addition, each sorority elects one active member of their organization to serve as a Chapter Delegate on the council. Together, these eleven student leaders work to advance sorority life on campus, and promote a robust co-curricular experience.

The Panhellenic Council exists to develop, enhance, and maintain sorority life and inter-sorority relations at a high level of accomplishment on our campus. This is accomplished by considering goals and ideals of our member organizations as continually applicable to campus and personal life; promoting superior scholarship and basic intellectual development; cooperating with our member organizations and the College’s administration regarding maintenance of high social and moral standards; acting in accordance with all Unanimous Agreements, Standards, and Best Practices set forth by the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC); and acting in accordance with the standards and expectations set for the sorority community at Keene State so as not to violate the sovereignty, rights, and privileges of our member organizations.

KSC’s Panhellenic Council is a subsidiary of the the National Panhellenic Conference. The NPC is the premier advocacy and support organization for the advancement of the sorority experience, and provides support and guidance for its 26 member inter/national sororities/women’s fraternities and serves as the national voice on contemporary issues of sorority life. NPC is one of the oldest and largest women’s membership organizations representing more than 4 million women at 655 college/university campuses and 4,500 local alumnae chapters in the U.S. and Canada.

Interfraternity Council

Inter-Fraternity Council

The Keene State College Interfraternity Council serves as the primary governing body for all recognized fraternities on campus. The Executive Board is comprised of eight officers who are elected to serve for a period of one academic year. In addition, each fraternity elects one active member of their organization to serve as a Chapter Delegate on the council. Together, these thirteen student leaders work to advance fraternity life on campus, and promote a values-based, positive undergraduate experience for members of the community.
