For Margaret Smith, teaching at Keene State is a wonderful experience. “I enjoy the small classrooms, where I get to work with students more closely than I would on a large college campus,” she says. “I also love the collegiality of faculty – for example, professors working together on research and projects.”

While Dr. Smith finds a great deal of satisfaction in collaborating with other professors, she says, "The most affirming moments for me are when students say, ‘I was thinking -the other day— about something we talked about in class…...’” That's because it plays right into what she wants for her students and what she wants them to take away from their experience in her classroom. Dr. Smith says “It is wonderful to hear students thinking about class topics outside of the classroom!”
