Dr. Anne-Marie Mallon joined the Keene State College English Department in 1985 after completing a Ph.D. in English, with specializations in twentieth century American literature and modern drama, from the University of Notre Dame. At KSC, she has designed and taught numerous courses, including Women Writers, American Modernism/Postmodernism, African Narratives, LGBT Writers, Global Dramas. She has participated in the creation of the Women’s and Gender Studies Department, the Integrative Studies Program, and the Honors Program; she currently serves as Coordinator for the Travelli-Ayling Scholarship Funds for KSC. Her scholarship has focused on women writers and women’s studies program development; she also served as contributor to and co-editor for the eighth edition of the McMichael Anthology of American Literature. She was named KSC’s Distinguished Teacher of the Year in 2009 and KSC’s Outstanding Woman of New Hampshire in 1994. Her work with the Honors Program has included the creation of an interdisciplinary global engagement course focused on South Africa that culminates in student travel to that country.
