Elise Morissette and Jen Drake-Deese receive the Golden Owl.

From Kim Harkness, Human Resources:

Elise Morrissette and Jen Drake-Deese received the Golden Owl in appreciation for their leadership for KSC’s LEAN efforts. Jen and Elise have completed their LEAN green belt certification and are now helping colleagues by facilitating a review of the PERC process. And this week, Jen starts her work toward her LEAN black belt. Thank you Elise and Jen for being such great colleagues and role models and focusing on finding better solutions!

From Rob Coleman, IT Group:

I am passing the Golden Owl to Jim Tuttle! I am certain everyone on campus knows why Jim Tuttle deserves the owl; he is always extremely pleasant to work with and he is responsive and thoughtful when I have questions on pretty much any subject that I think he might deal with. Even if it isn’t something he can help with, he knows who to talk with to make things happen! His calm demeanor lays any concerns I have to rest whenever I might have issue. He is always wearing a snappy tie, he always goes above and beyond to assist anyone with any issues, and I’ve never not received a paycheck!

I also hear he is a superb bowler….

From Barbara Preston, Office of the Vice President For Student Affairs and Enrollment Management:

I would like to give a Shout Out and offer my sincere appreciation to Michelle Fuller in the Provost’s Office. When I find myself stymied regarding a Banner and/or Webi challenge, I will ask Michelle for her thoughts. Michelle is always responsive and detailed in letting me know how she has tackled that challenge in the past. She will send me screen shots, copies of Webi reports and offer suggestions. She is knowledgeable, generous with her time and a real resource for me. Thank you, Michelle!

From Matthew Schmidt, Transitions Case Manager:

I referred a first year student to Christine Hrynowski in the Aspire program this week. The student was struggling with several things academically and socially. She also had trouble figuring out who could help her.

After the student’s appointment with Chris, the student called me and said thank you. She emphasized how helpful it was to meet with Chris: “I was so stressed beforehand and feel so much better now.”

I followed up with Chris and within that short time span they had resolved several of the students issues and started a plan for the rest of the semester.

It’s so nice to know we have people and resources like this on campus that make a difference for students.
