Colleague Recognition

I am passing on Oscar to Kim Harkness. Kim has been my colleague, my friend and my mentor. Kim represents everything that is best about Keene State, and passes on her optimism and love for the College to everyone she meets. It’s always exciting when I get to work with Kim; she helps me to remember that we are all responsible for improving the lives of our students. I couldn’t think of someone who deserves recognition more than Kim! Thanks for everything!

I am honored to bestow the Golden Owl upon Melanie Lizotte in the Dean of Students Office. Mel is a tireless advocate for Keene State College students and her dedication and compassion are noteworthy traits deserving of recognition. I have worked closely with her over the last two years in my role here at the Residential Life and Housing Office, and I am continually impressed by her work ethic. She not only does what she does with speed and efficiency but she has never hesitated to tackle the additional duties asked of her in reaching out to our students when other departments need her. Her kindhearted and friendly demeanor extends beyond our students to her colleagues on campus which makes her a pleasure to work with. All in all, she is the sauce that awesome is made of. Thank you, Mel, for everything you do for our students and for being someone we all can count on to get things done! Congratulations!
