From Diana Duffy, Physical Plant:

In preparation for Earth Week, the EcoReps have been working to promote the natural beauty of our campus. Teaming up with Bud Winsor, Assistant Director of Physical Plant-Grounds, the EcoReps explored KSC’s new online tree inventory. This interactive site itemizes 1,100 trees on this campus, with information on each tree, from where on campus you can find a type of tree, to the age and health of each one.

The EcoReps have designed a “tree tour” that identifies 20 amazing trees on campus. You can spot the trees on this self-guided tour – they are tied with green ribbon and have a tag that notes what kind of tree it is, a fun fact about that tree type, a barcode that can be scanned to find out more information about the tree, directly from this database of KSC trees. Designed by the EcoReps to bring attention to the inventory site, the tour was developed to help celebrate Earth Day. The tree tour can be completed on campus by anyone at any time, until the first week in May.
