Professional Activities
Dr. Beverly J. Ferrucci, Professor of Mathematics, conducted a workshop entitled “Enhancing Primary Students’ Mathematical Thinking with Hands-On Activities” at the Institut Pendidikan Guru Kampus Pulau Pinang in Malaysia. The workshop was designed for primary school pre-service mathematics education specialists from across Malaysia. The workshop illustrated model lessons and techniques to increase primary students’ knowledge of mathematical concepts.
Sandra Howard (Music) presented at the 2015 Eastern Division Conference for the National Association for Music Education in Providence, Rhode Island. On Friday, April 10, her presentations included an interest session entitled “Developing Vocal Techniques for Elementary Singers” and a poster presentation entitled “Audition Formats for Honors Choral Ensembles: A National Survey”. On Saturday, April 11, she presented an interest session entitled “Promoting Leadership and Supporting Collegiate Members” along with pre-service music educators Samantha Fowler ‘15, Brian Fanning (UNH 2015), Cynthia Velez (SNHU 2015). Dr. Howard is an Associate Professor of Music and the President of the New Hampshire Music Educators Association.
Elaine Broad Ginsberg’s (Music) Oseh Shalom will be performed in a series of concerts in the Midwest by the men’s choral ensemble Cantus.
