YEA! Comes to Keene State

From Meredith Speranza, Young Entrepreneurs Academy:

The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is an innovative program that transforms middle and high school students into real, confident entrepreneurial successes. The YEA! program is offered in over 100 communities nationwide, in 36 states across the country, and is excited to announce its first partnership in the state of New Hampshire with Keene State College and the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce. Throughout the class, students develop business ideas, write business plans, conduct market research, pitch their plans to a panel of investors, and actually launch and run their own real, legal, fully-formed companies and social movements. Complete with dynamic guest speakers from the local business community and exciting behind-the-scenes trips to local companies, the fun, projects-based YEA! approach empowers students to take charge of their futures in a profound way. By the end of the class students own and operate fully-formed and functioning businesses which may be carried on after their graduation from the program.

Classes will be held on the Keene State College campus once a week after school, beginning in January and ending in early June.

The application deadline is November 21, 2014. For more information and to download the student application, please visit: http://www.keene.edu/campus/outreach/yea/.
