President Huot Addresses New Hampshire House

On February 6, the four presidents of the University System of New Hampshire were invited to address the New Hampshire General Assembly. President Anne Huot joined colleagues Sara Jayne Steen from Plymouth State University, Kathleen Mullin from Granite State College, and Mark Huddleston from the University of New Hampshire to share highlights from each institution, discuss efforts to promote STEM disciplines, and describe the economic impact that each institution has at the local, regional, and state level.

Also speaking to members of the House were Pamela Diamantis, Chair of the University System Board of Trustees, and Todd Leach, Chancellor of the University System of New Hampshire. Student representatives from each campus spoke about their educational experience and how the House’s support for higher education has made a difference for them. Allie Bedell, a student trustee to the University System Board of Trustees and a senior at Keene State, described how support from the state is important to parents and families of students.
