Seymour Recognized for Sexual Violence Prevention

From Brian Quigley, Counseling Center:

Forrest Seymour has been nationally recognized for his extraordinary work in sexual violence prevention at KSC and awarded the New Hampshire Visionary Voice Award. As described below, this is an award provided to only one individual in each state for their outstanding efforts in this area and Forrest was chosen as the recipient for the state of New Hampshire.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center provides the annual Visionary Voice Awards. These awards, offered in conjunction with Sexual Assault Awareness Month each April, recognize the creativity and hard work of individuals around the country who have demonstrated outstanding advocacy and community work to end or prevent sexual violence. The NSVRC relies on each state, territory, and tribal coalition to select one outstanding individual deserving of this honor (only coalitions may make selections). While we encourage coalitions to look to their local community partners for outstanding individuals, coalitions may select the person to receive the award on whatever basis they wish.

Forrest was nominated for this award by our off-campus partner, Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention, Inc. The award will be presented to him at the Victims’ Rights Day press conference which will be held on April 8, 2014 at 11am in Concord. We are very proud of Forrest to be deservedly recognized for his commitment, dedication, thoughtfulness, and innovation in his work to prevent sexual violence at KSC and in our community. We truly are fortunate to have Forrest working with us here in our Counseling Center at KSC.
