Campus News: What Is It Good For?
Practically everything!
- Having an event on campus?
- Looking for nominations for an award?
- Want colleagues to know about your professional achievements?
- Want to let other faculty and staff know how they can work even better with your department or office?
- Serving ice cream in the summer?
- Bringing a speaker to KSC next semester that you hope colleagues will consider adding to their syllabi now?
- Got a great photo?
- Want to boost your group’s profile on campus?
- Want to ensure your colleagues get the credit they deserve?
Those are all excellent things to share through Campus News.
Campus News exists as a vehicle for Keene State faculty and staff to share news with each other. Events emails are great, but Campus News reaches even people who have unsubscribed from the Events list*. And keeping Events emails to a minimum increases the likelihood that people will stay subscribed to the Events list — and actually read the emails when they come.
Here’s how:
- Do a short writeup of your event or information. Make sure you’ve got all the pertinent information included.
- Send it to campusnews@keene.edu. Do not send it to the individual e-mail addresses of the folks who work on Campus News; your item may still make it into CN, but it also may get lost in one of those individual e-mail inboxes.
- The deadline for each issue of Campus News is the Monday prior to publication at noon. Items submitted late sometimes make the cut anyway. Items submitted early are welcome; please specify which week you’d like your item to run, if it isn’t the current one.
It’s just that easy. Campus News comes out every other week unless otherwise stated.
For the rest of this semester, Campus News will come out:

- March 6
- March 20
- April 3
- April 17
- May 1
- May 15
*People can also, of course, unsubscribe from Campus News any time — but why would you want to? News you can use, free, in two handy e-mail digests a month? What more can you ask for?
