Distinguished Teacher Award Nominations Being Accepted

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2014 Distinguished Teacher Award!
Presented annually since 1971, the KSC Alumni Association Distinguished Teacher Award recognizes excellence in teaching at Keene State College, based upon the following criteria:
- excellence in classroom teaching,
- encouragement of independent thinking,
- rapport with students in and out of the classroom,
- and effective student advising.
So, if you know a colleague who fits that criteria, please use the form and guidelines and nominate him or her for the award. This is a team effort — you will need letters from students, alumni, and campus colleagues.
If you have previously led the submission of a nominee, you may also send a letter to re-activate a previous submission with supplemental current documentation. Please contact Patty Farmer at 8-2370 with any questions.
Please collect documentation and letters of support and submit to the Alumni and Parent Relations office, Barry Alumni House (in the Alumni Center on Main Street) by 4 p.m. March 14, 2014.
All nominees must be full-time, tenure-track faculty who have taught a minimum of three years at Keene State College and must demonstrate continuing excellence in teaching. Previous recipients are not eligible for re-nomination.

In recognition for their achievement, each honoree receives a plaque and an honorarium, and their portrait is included among previous recipients in the Mason Library. Duties may include presentations and/or speaking engagements.
The recipient is notified in July by the President’s office and announced to campus colleagues during the Opening Day program in August.
