Save the Date: Nursing Simulation Lab

Keene State’s new Nursing Simulation Lab is getting ready for visitors!

The $1.2 million facility will be fully operational when students return for the spring semester. Located in the former computer lab in Rhodes Hall, the Simulation Lab is organized into two areas. The Nursing Fundamentals Lab features five patient areas and a nurses station that are set up just as they would be in the most current hospital environment. And the Simulation Lab is equipped with two intensive care rooms that are monitored from a common control room. State-of-the-art mannequins can be programmed for up to 100 different health care scenarios. Students using the Simulation Lab will have extensive opportunities for hands on learning that would take considerably longer by traditional teaching models. According to Mary Ellen Fleeger, director of the nursing program, the Simulation Lab is the best-equipped facility in New Hampshire and offers an interdisciplinary approach to teaching that is not found at other institutions.

Join the Keene State community for an Open House and tour of the new Nursing Simulation Lab. Monday, February 3 from 2:30 – 4 p.m.
