Professional Activities

Beverly J. Ferrucci, Professor of Mathematics, and Christina Anderson ‘14 presented a workshop titled, “A Hands-On Approach to Algebraic Thinking in the Elementary Classroom” at the Western Regional Conference and Exposition of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics in Las Vegas, NV. More than 100 teachers attended their interactive workshop, which shared ways in which elementary school teachers can introduce algebraic thinking techniques to their students in a manner that complements the Common Core Standards for Mathematical Practices.

Jim Chesebrough, Music, and senior KSC music students Dan Cicarello, Sarah Wolff, Katey Lundstedt, and Jesse Oberg presented “So Tell Us a Bit More About Yourself: Interviewing for the Job You Want” at the New Hampshire Music Educators Association Fall Conference at Southern New Hampshire University. The panel was joined by Mr. William Carozza, Principal of the Harold Martin School in Hopkinton, for a discussion of important considerations when interviewing for music teaching positions. The session included mock interview questions and the real thoughts behind them posed by administrators and answered by students.
