Professor Daniel L. Patterson of Theatre and Dance attended the annual conference of the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) last week. Prof. Patterson is now the Producer of the David Mark Cohen national playwriting award and organized the production of this year’s winning play And When We Awoke There Was Light and Light by Laura Jacqmin at the conference in Orlando. In addition, Prof. Patterson continues to be asked to perform as an actor in the New Play Development, Ten-Minute play festival also held at the ATHE conference. He appeared in the role of Sherman, the ghost of the grandfather, in Antique by Savannah Ganster. Professor Patterson is an officer in the PACT (Playwrights and Creative Teams) focus group of ATHE.

Director of Campus Safety Amanda Guthorn Warman was elected to the Board of Directors of NECUSA (the Northeast Colleges and Universities Security Association), at their annual business meeting on June 24 in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. NECUSA is the oldest campus law enforcement organization in the country. Warman previously served on the board from 1997 to 2006.

Campus safety officers Kristopher Fox and Jessica Trombley completed the New Hampshire Campus Safety Academy on July 26 at Keene State. The academy graduated its 28th consecutive class since 1986. The academy is an intensive 50-hour program and has been hosted by Keene State College for 9 of the last 12 years, bringing non-sworn officers from as far away as Michigan. Amanda Guthorn Warman has served as an academy co-director and/or faculty member for the past 17 years, and Associate Director of Campus Safety Ethan Kipnes has served as part of the academy cadre and/or faculty for 3 years. Warman’s records indicate that more than 360 officers have completed this program in the last 17 years.

Sergeant Brendan Bosquet completed a four day Campus Safety Supervisors Academy on August 1 hosted by Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York.
