Professional Activities

Dr. Roland L. Higgins, Professor of East Asian History, has been selected to participate in a National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Institute entitled “Empires and Interactions Across the Early Modern World, 1400-1800,” to be held at St. Louis University during the four weeks of June 2013. On April 19, Prof. Higgins Chaired and served as Commentator for a Panel entitled, “Imagining the Other in World History,” at the Spring Meeting of the New England Historical Association, held at Westfield State University, Westfield, MA.

Beverly J. Ferrucci (Mathematics) presented “Making the Connections: Children’s Literature and the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics” at the New Hampshire Teachers of Mathematics’ 50th Anniversary meeting in Manchester, NH. Dr. Ferrucci’s interactive workshop presented examples of how to effectively integrate children’s literature into elementary school mathematics lessons.
