Who Are You, and What Do You Do?
- Who are you? Kelly Ricaurte
- What do you do? Media Relations Manager – I am the main contact for reporters at Keene State.
- _What do you really do?_ I help to develop ideas for stories in the media that highlight Keene State’s excellence. I contact reporters with story ideas, write announcements and I help the Marketing & Communications team by writing ad copy and magazine pieces when needed. I develop strategies around media, and create messaging that communicates what Keene State is all about. I also help to get the word out when there is an emergency on campus or in our community.
- What else do you do? My husband’s name is Brian, and I have a two-year-old son, Will, and a seven month-old daughter, Isabel. And I can’t forget our two cats that have strong personalities of their own – KC and Kiki. We all live in Peterborough. I love yoga and running, and hope to return to both some day when life is a little more calm! Hiking, and being outside in general, also makes me very happy.
- How long have you been here? I’ve been in NH for about two years, and August is my two-year anniversary at Keene State. I came to NH by way of Washington, DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh. I earned my BA at the University of Pittsburgh, and an MPA at George Washington University and managed PR in the high tech sector along the way.
- If you could have a superpower, what would it be and why? If I could have one superpower, it would be to “have eyes on the back of my head” so that I could see my toddler no matter where he is, when he’s under my care – he keeps me on my toes.
- What else do you want other faculty and staff to know about you? One random fact: I’ve met Tom Selleck, and he is as tall as he appears to be on TV.
